Coronavirus has impacted all of our lives in various ways, but if you were planning to buy or sell, you may feel like a wrench was thrown into your plans. Through Chaos, There is Still Beauty My wife and I live in the neighborhood of Ballard, and have noticed that many businesses have boarded up their windows. When this happened several weeks ago, it felt alarming and scary seeing all our favorite shops and restaurants closed down. But then something beautiful started to happen…artists began painting wonderful murals, collages and comforting words of encouragement, and once again we felt the warmth and togetherness of our vibrant community. When a team member or maintenance worker enters a home, they are equipped with gloves, a mask, and shoe coverings. We practice physical distancing, and have eliminated any meetings that can be conducted over the phone or via a video call. We are taking this very seriously and are doing everything we can to keep our team and our sellers safe.

We recommend holding off on seeing homes in person or having people in your house to come and see it. These things can be done online for the time being until the curve has been flattened and life begins to return to normal. 

Try to avoid having outsiders come in for repairs or maintenance. However, if there is an emergency and something needs to be repaired, make sure they have protective covering and keep your distance. Be sure to sterilize your house on a regular basis, especially if a repairman or other professional comes into your home to provide a service. Washing your hands, disinfecting your house, and practicing physical distancing are the best ways to keep you and your family safe.

While we might all be going a little stir-crazy at home, there is no reason things shouldn’t move forward if you are buying or selling a house in Seattle. Even if you aren’t able to see a house in person or if we aren’t able to get to your property to see it for ourselves, we are more than happy to see it virtually via a video call or through photos.
