As you probably know by now, we buy houses from all kinds of people in all kinds of situations. We’ve bought houses from attorneys, factory workers, business owners, retirees, you name it. Sometimes we get opportunities to help people in really tough situations where no one else wants to help or can help.

Recently we bought a house from a gentleman who was serving time in jail. He was having a very hard time selling his house because of his circumstances and asked his daughter to help. His daughter found us online, researched us, and then reached out to us. We discussed everything over the phone and then went out to see the house. The house required a lot of work but this didn’t phase us and we gave a fair cash offer. The daughter talked to her dad and he decided to take the offer and move forward. That’s when we got to work and pulled in our resources: our attorney, mobile notary, and the great folks at American Title and Escrow. Because of our experience, we anticipated hurdles that we would face such as specific power of attorney requirements, jail rules regarding mailing and notaries, county septic regulations, etc. Ultimately we were able to overcome all of the challenges and bought the house just like we promised to. At the end of the day, the seller was happy and relieved and we were able to help one more client.
